Fundraising Concerts: The Baroque Viola
I have exciting news - I'll be heading to Europe in July to take part in the Helicona International School of Improvisation, a summer school run by internationally renowned baroque violinist and improviser, Davide Monti. I will also be taking lessons from pre-eminent baroque violists Jane Rogers and Stefano Marcocchi.
In order to raise funds to undertake this travel, I'm holding three fundraising concerts, in different cities around Australia.
Beginning with the sunrise theme of Handel’s first violin sonata (arranged for viola and cello), my travelling companions and I will explore beloved works from 18th Century Europe. Then we’ll hop in the TARDIS to arrive in modern Australia, still armed with our baroque instruments! Discover the enchanting and intimate sounds of gut strings and baroque bows, and how they can traverse time and place to tell the stories in music through the ages and across continents.
Donations are gratefully accepted in cash on the day (or contact me if you would prefer to donate by bank transfer).
